Your questions - Our answers!
How long does it take to receive my window coverings once I place my order?
That depends on the product ordered. Since custom window coverings are made to fit your specific windows, it is reasonable to expect quality, customized products to take a little longer. However, generally speaking, most products can be received and installed within 7-10 business days. Some products take longer due to the nature of the materials and extent of labor in manufacturing them. If you have a privacy issue, we would be glad to place temporary shades in your windows at no cost while you wait for your custom window coverings.

What is the difference between blinds and plantation shutters?
Answer: Plantation shutters derived their name from the window coverings used on the old plantation homes of yesteryear. They have thicker louvers than most blinds, and are permanently attached to the window frame. They offer a refined and beautiful finish to your window. We often refer to them as "furniture for your windows." They are adjusted or tilted with a rod that controls all the louvers simultaneously. They are opened by pulling out the panel(s), much like a cabinet door. They cannot be raised or lowered like a blind.
Faux wood and wood blinds often get confused with shutters, as they look similar to shutters from the outside. These blinds are attached with brackets only at the top of your window and fall freely to the sill. They can be raised or lowered and tilted opened or closed through the use of cord controls.
Why should I choose plantation shutters over blinds (or vice versa)?
Answer: This is totally a personal preference. Both types of window coverings add beauty and function to your home. Both offer superior light control and insulation. However, shutters are the only window coverings that actually add resale value to your home. This means that whatever amount you pay for your shutters is likely to be added to the final selling price of your home. So, if shutters, though much pricier than blinds, are within your budget, consider them a worthwhile investment!
